Before he signed on to play with UAG Tecos he played for Universidad de Chile back in Chile. He signed for Cruz Azul on November 26, 2010 to play for the club starting in the Clausura 2011 in the Primera Divisi n de M xico.Cruz Azul paid $3 million dollars for Hugo.
