His first big hit was in Ang Pagdadalaga ni Maximo Oliveros (English: The Blossoming of Maximo Oliveros) in 2005 where he played a 12-year-old gay boy who comes from a criminal family and falls in love with a handsome policeman. He won 2 awards for the movie. Nathan was working on a primetime TV series entitled Sana Maulit Muli as Romeo Bato, Jasmine's gay best friend (played by Kim Chiu). The series aired in the Philippines on the ABS-CBN network in January 2007 and ended in April of the same year.
