It is found along the eastern slope of the Andes in southern Colombia, Ecuador, and Peru and east into Amazonia, including parts of Brazil. Its distribution is poorly known, and it may also occur further south, into Bolivia. Rodentia is an order of mammals also known as rodents, characterised by two continuously growing incisors in the upper and lower jaws which must be kept short by gnawing.
