Paco Ayestaran Barandiaran (born February 5, 1963 in Spain) was a long-serving and successful Assistant Manager to football Manager Rafael Benitez at both Liverpool FC and Valencia. He quit at the start of the 2007-08 season following an apparent disagreement, and was placed on gardening leave until June 30, 2008. He served as physical fitness coach at SL Benfica for the 2008-2009 season and returned to Valencia CF for the 2009-2010 season, leaving in the summer for professional reasons.
