Promoter and organiser is Fondazione I Teatri in Reggio Emilia; artistic director is world-famous cellist Mario Brunello (it: Mario Brunello); founder and honorary artistic director is pianist Guido Alberto Borciani, Paolo Borciani's brother. A string quartet is a musical ensemble of four string players - usually two violinists, a violist and a cellist - or a piece written to be performed by such a group. The string quartet is one of the most prominent chamber ensembles in classical music.
