Born in Tamil Nadu, India, he is the eldest son of Sivaji Ganesan and the older brother of successful Tamil actor Prabhu Ganesan, Shanti and Thenmozhi. He is currently the head of Sivaji Productions, a film productions company that has produced very successful movies, including the blockbuster Chandramukhi in 2005.
