Saint-Martin-d'Auxigny is a commune and chief town of a canton in the Cher departement of the Centre region of France.An area of lakes and streams, forestry and farming comprising of a large village and several hamlets situated some 9 miles (14 km) north of Bourges, at the junction of the D940 with the D56 and the D68 roads. Cher is an administrative department located in the centre of France. It is named after the Cher River.Cher is one of the original 83 departments created during the French Revolution on March 4, 1790. It was created from part of the former province of Berry.The department is part of the current administrative region of Centre (Val de Loire). It is surrounded by the departments of Indre, Loir-et-Cher, Loiret, Nievre, Allier, and Creuse.
