Her mother was Marija Kessler, born as Trenz 24.04.1860 + 01.05.1939, an ethnic German and her father Slovene, Rudolph Kessler. Her parents' home in Ljubljana was a well known meeting point of the Slovenian literary scene at the time, frequented among others also by Ivan Cankar and Oton upani, husband of her sister Ana Kessler.
