The Town of Woodhull is in the south part of the county, west of Corning, NY. The first settlers arrived around 1804. The town was formed from the Towns of Troupsburg and Addison in 1828. In 1856, part of Woodhull was taken for the Town of Rathbone. According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 55.4 square miles (143.5 km), of which, 55.4 square miles (143.4 km) of it is land and 0.04 square miles (0.1 km) of it (0.04%) is water. The south town line is the border of Tioga County, Pennsylvania.
