The Wrexham Industrial Estate is the 2nd largest industrial estate in the north of Wales, (3nd largest in United Kingdom. by size) situated on the eastern side of the town of Wrexham. Preceded by a munitions factory, the estate was first known as Wrexham Trading Estate, and later, aided by Government grants, grew in size enough to counter the effects of the closure of local coal mines and resurrect the local economy.
