Roped (Hardcover)

While taking part in a roping event, veterinarian and horse lover Gail McCarthy has to put down a prize horse who has taken a fall. Later that day, mother horse stumbles and is seriously injured. Gail assumes these two events are a coincidence -- until an old friend shows up who claims otherwise and asks for Gail's help.

As Gail tries to get to the bottom of things, she encounters old resentments, her friend's vengeful ex-husband, and an animal rights group -- all of whom have motives to sabatoge the roping sport and who will stop at nothing to get what they want.
