The Experiences of International Students in Predominantly White American Universities (Paperback)

Lawrence in this work describes the challenging experiences international students encounter in a predominantly white university. These foreign students feel intimidated that they are scared of relating and/or challenging their experiences. As a foreigner, this author resonates with these international students in their struggles. Given that human nature abhors vacuum, he believes that these experiences are very likely to be the same with other international students in other universities across the country. The author relates that foreign students, who already are passing through the nostalgic feelings of leaving their home countries, should not be further subjected, intentionally or otherwise, to some of these experiences. This work will create awareness to both the university administrators, business executives and students of American origin of the challenges and plights of international students. He hopes that this awareness will help create better ways to enable foreign students adapt to their new environment.
