Deak Sis, At a general meeting of the Society of St. Vincent do Paul, held in the School-room of St. Patrick's Cathedral, on Sunday evening, March 1st, 1857, the following resolution was unanimously adopted: Resolved: --That a Committee be nominated by the President, to present the thanks of the Society to Dr. Ivks, for his able and eloquent lectures, and to request a copy of the same for publication. The Committee take great pleasure in the discharge of this duty. They feel assured that they correctly represent the sense of the Society, in stating that your lectures were especially called for by the exigencies of the times, and were replete with valuable information, which they think ought to be presented in a permanent and accessible form.
