I opened my eyes and looked past Carl and viewed a scene that was unfolding to the side of him. I described to Carl what I was seeing, which was similar to describing each scene as a movie played.

"I see a gazebo. It's in a park," I said. "There is snow on the ground and behind the gazebo is a pond. There are ice skaters on the pond. In the gazebo is a woman and she is the one who is bringing me to the scene. She is waiting in the gazebo for someone. She is wearing a full length white winter coat, black gloves and a white hat. Her hat is trimmed with a black band and there is a gray feather sticking out of the hatband."

"Myrtle had a hat like that," Carl said excitedly. "How do you know that?"

Without commenting to Carl, I held to the vision and continued my narrative. "The woman is checking her watch. The person she is waiting for is late, but she waits patiently as she watches the ice skaters. Someone is approaching her. She stands to greet him. This is the person she had been waiting for. Now she is showing me that she is wearing a diamond ring on her finger. It's an engagement ring."

"That's where I proposed to her. We were at the gazebo," Carl said, "I had to work late, but I got there as fast as I could. I was afraid she would not be there, but she had waited for me."

I listened to the spirit and repeated, "She says that it's the most beautiful ring that she had ever seen."

Carl wiped at the tears in his eyes. "That's what she said when I gave it to her. I always hoped she meant it. It was all I could afford at the time."

I looked at him. "Yes. She meant it. That's why she wore it all of her life."

Carl nodded. "That's right. She never wanted another one, even when I could afford better."

My attention returned to the vision. "Now she is standing in a room holding a baby. There are four framed photos on the wall of other children. She shows me that the baby she is holding is not in any of the photographs." I silently asked the spirit what this meant. This may be a new symbol and I wanted to get this right. I waited a moment and then asked, "Carl, did she lose a baby?"

Carl looked at me, his face flushed. "Yes, she lost the last one, a girl, in childbirth. We had four boys. She lost the girl. We never had anymore."

As I watched the vision, I saw the spirit of the baby that she had been holding age and then stand next to her mother's spirit, holding her hand. As I watched, both the mother and the child stepped out of the movie and stood next to Carl, looking at him.

The child let go of her mother's hand and hugged her father. I said, "Your wife is showing me that she is with your daughter. They are both happy to see you, Carl and the child is hugging you."

Carl took a handkerchief from his pocket and wiped his eyes, then looked hard at me and asked, "Is this some kind of trick?"
