A basic tool in the study of partial differential equations and in analysis on manifolds, pseudo-differential operators enable to take a new approach to perturbation methods of Nash and Moser. Microlocal analysis, Littlewood-Paley theory, the paradifferential calculus and its application to interpolation inequalities and the implicit function theorem are also presented and discussed.
