Not illustrated. 1888 Excerpt: ...William Bayley Sworn We the Jurors aforenamed do order and appoint the Constables for the Year ensueing a Deputy and a Beadle with the accustomed Wages, and for defraying their Charges to have a Towns Ley assessed by the Mise Layers, and Power is hereby given to the said Constables to remove either of the said Officers for Default and if the Constables think fit that the Beadle to be employed for the Time being deserves more than his usuall Sallary of ffive Pounds they are hereby impowered to allow him fforty shillings more for the Year ensueing. We the Jurors aforenamed do order and appoint a Winter Watch to be kept as usuall from the Twenty eighth day of this instant October untill the Twenty ffifth day of March next, and that the Constables do take care that the same be performed by able bodied men from the usuall time in the Evening till five in the morning. We the Jurors aforenamed do amerce all and singular the Burgesses who owe Suit and Service to this Court and have not appeared this Day upon their Call in six pence, and all and singular the Inhabitants, who have defaulted in the like manner in three pence each. Be it remembred that we the Jurors aforenamed did meet on the said Eighthth sic day of November pursuant to the above Adjournment at which Time The Officers Market Lookers for fflesh and ffish 10 10 do present and we do amerce William Renshaw for bad Veal.................. James Brownhill for bad Veal.................. Job Basnet for bad Veal..................... Joseph Breadbury for bad Veal................. Joseph Breadbury again for the like Offence......... James Green the younger for bad Veal............ Thomas Duttons man for bad Veal............... Job Basnet again for bad Veal.................. Timothy Hulme for bad Veal................
