Not illustrated. 1886 Excerpt: ...sold, bearing interest, and the proceeds of the sale of said lands and the interest accrued on any unpaid balance of principal, shall be paid over by the Company to the Provincial Treasurer on behalf of the Government, as fast as collected; and such minimum price shall be two dollars per acre, until otherwise mutually arranged. Fourth. That the Government may appoint an officer in connection with the said sale of lands, whose duty it shall be to perform such functions in respect of such sales as shall be delegated to him by the Government. Fifth. That inasmuch as the lands to be granted by the Government of the Dominion to the Company amount to only six thousand four hundred (6,400) acres per mile of the railway under construction during the present season and to be constructed, the company agrees and binds itself to account to the Government for the price of the sale of the lands heretofore earned by the company, to the extent of one-half of the proceeds of the sale of such lands in addition to the proceds of the sale of the lands now being, and to be hereafter earned by the company. Sixth. That the Government agree to allow on all overpayments by the company under this agreement, interest at the rate of five per cent per annum, the same to be computed half-yearly at the time of the maturity of the coupons. In witness whereof the parties hereto have executed these presents at the places and upon the dates set opposite their names respectively.
