This publication attempts to bring together all the major molecular approaches and theories on cellular aging. The work of leading international research groups are presented in original papers and reviews which elucidate the molecular changes in membranes that contribute to cellular aging. Starting with an examination of the very basic changes such as deanination and methylation, the papers progress to clinical applications for the different molecular approaches. Also included is new information on the development of a synthetic aging antigen to treat disease. The text is aimed at gerontologists, experimental biologists and others with an interest in molecular aging or the membrane biology of aging.
