This reading series is a coherent step-by-step package enabling the learner to begin reading, writing and spelling correctly right from the start. It also aims to encourage the learner to take part in reading and language activities to prepare him/her for the outcomes-based educational methods. The programme provides ready-to-use material that is integrated and can be easily extended. The full-colour Readers are based on the Programme Organisers and the stories and other reading material are based on everyday reality. Cross-curricular activities are also provided covering all eight Learning Areas. A Teacher's Guide provides the rationale and background for each lesson as well as assessment guidance.
