Research Portfolio (Paperback)


This portfolio discusses various important aspects that affects teacher education. Portfolio has become one of the important tools of assessment in education. Aspects discussed such as the historical background of a history curriculum, the theories underpinning the pre and post independence curriculum, the literature review that provide better ways of understanding the theories that was investigated to inform research, and research findings that can be applicable to different situations in different schools. The quality of education reforms requires the use of appropriate resources, conducive learning environment, active involvement of the learners and teachers that should have better understanding of the system been used. Teacher educators are seen very important in transformimng the Namibian education by breaking the cycle of authoritarianism and inequities in schooling prior to independence in 1990. The preparation of teacher educators to be willing and able to prepare teachers in a manner that is consistent with national educational goals has been a neglected element of educational reform in Third World countries.
