Meryl Streep is already known as the best actress. Ever. Here she portrays Margaret Thatcher, a former British Prime Minister. What you need to know: The film is rubbish. Anyone who's seen The King's Speech will notice how the creators tried to mimic that film. It didn't work. Meryl Streep won an Oscar, which she didn't deserve. Why? She gave one of the best performances of all time, BUT it's as if the director of the film tried to show her as poorly as possible. You never get to appreciate her fully. Despite this, you should see The Iron Lady, if only for the two actresses that portray the title character (of which Mrs. Meryl is one). But don't expect a good film, and read a bit about the actual person before watching (it will fill the gaps in the poor narrative).
