Al-Islam and Christianity - A Study in Contrasts (Hardcover)

Few events have had the far-reaching effects upon the history of man as has the establishment and expansion of the Judeo-Christian faith, except perhaps the establishment and expansion of the Islamic religion. According to Muslim traditional views, many of the men appearing in the Hebrew Scriptures, and the later Christian Bible, such as Adam, Noah, Moses, Job, Joshua, Jonah, and even Jesus, were the predecessors of the true prophet of Islam, Muhammad. As concerns the Jewish and Christian faith, what exactly are the basic differences between them and the Islamic religion? Each claims to have a personal knowledge of God, albeit from different points of view and from different sources. One faith claims Jesus was not the Son of God and there is no Holy Trinity while the other holds their existence to be fundamental truth. Which are correct in their beliefs? Or, are each correct? Why does such enmity exist between Islam and the Judeo-Christian community? Because of the tensions of today's world events, the author felt it necessary to produce this work in an attempt to lead to a better understanding for the apparently conflicting faiths employed by both communities. This book examines the Holy Bible and the Holy Quran in detail, and at times, verse-by-verse in an exhaustive comparison of these two great works to enlighten and educate the reader as to their contents and their meaning, providing an in-depth study guide for each of the world's major literary works.
