Ordered that he be permitted to make a Vault under the Street in front of his House in Liberty Street. And on the Application of David Walker Ordered that he be permitted to make an an Area & to lead a private Drain from his Cellar into the public Drain at White Hall A Petition of Bernardus Swartwout for an additional Grant of the Soil under the Water of Hudsons River out to West Street was read & granted. Ordinances for paving the follow Streets were read & passed by the Bd vizt "That part of Chatham Street or Square (which lies on the East side of the Range of Chatham Street) from the Pavement at James Street to Catharine Street" "For filling in Magazine Street from Chatham Street to Ann Street" 213 "For paving of the Street in front of the Exchange Slip from the present pavement in Front Street to the River & the Piers on each side of the said Slip out to the River Also South Street from Whitehall Slip to the Exchange Slip And also the Street on the East side of the White Hall Slip" "And for paving Washington Street from the New Albany Bason to the Pavement at Wilkins's Lot" Ordered that the follow Persons be appointed firemen vizt to Engine N 11 Joseph Powell & John Halsted vice Peter Van Shiver & John Wilkins resigned. Engine N 20 Edmund Livingston vice John W Elsworth resigned Ordered that the Street Committee direct a Survey to be made of front Street from Burling to Bee...
