Happy Mania, v. 7 (Paperback)

After finding out that Takahashi has complete amnesia, Taka lies to Takahashi, and tells him that she's his girlfriend. Takahashi finds himself in a predicament when Taka's father (his former employer) finds the two hugging, and demands that he marry her, denouncing him as an ungrateful lout. He freaks out when he has to sleep with Taka (at her father's insistence), and finds a letter he wrote with his address in Tokyo on the front. He sets out to Tokyo to find out about himself. In the meantime, Fuku is staying with Shigeta after having run away from her wedding, and her friends Junjun and Mari hang around trying to convince her to go back to Hideki. By the time they give up on it, Fuku decides to go back to Hideki on her own, and Shigeta is searching for a job, as usual. She ends up begging for a job where Mari works as an editor of a publishing house. Hideki ends up sleeping with a girl from work who has a crush on him, and Fuku and Shigeta run right into him, while he is in the city with the girl. It ends with a melodramatic scene with Fuku crying and admitting that she still loves him. Shigeta, meanwhile, hates her job, hates working, and is hated by several of her co-workers for not knowing how to do anything. She begins to think that she'll end up a helpless and useless (and therefore unloved) woman. Takahashi finds himself in Kyoto, where he takes a job at a restaurant to make money to get to Tokyo. Shigeta also finds herself in Kyoto, to go to a temple where everyone gets their wish granted. She is also supposed to get a manuscript from a writer there. She goes expecting to find an old man (one who refuses to fax in this age of technology), but finds a guy who she falls instantly in love with. He apparently is also completely taken by her and proposes marriage. Back in Tokyo, Taka finds her way to Takahashi's home, tells his mother that she's engaged to him, and begs to stay there to await his return.
