A BILL to be entitled An Act to amend An Act entitled "An Act to create a municipal corporation to be known as the City of Nashville, and to define its rights, powers, duties, and, obligations, and to repeal all laws or parts of laws in conflict with the provisions of this Act, being Chapter 22, of the Private Acts of the General Assembly of the State of Tennessee for the year 1913, by amending Sections thereof as follows?to wit: Section 11, by adding the word " labor " thereto; Section 20, to exempt from the budget provisions proceeds from insurance policies; Section 22, to provide for payment of expenses of bond issues and use of surplus; Section 27, to provide for purchasing bonds with proceeds of the sinking fund; Section 30, by adding a new Subsection No. 29, to authorize a municipal employment bureau, and by amending Subsection 5 of Section 30, to enlarge and extend the authority and power of the Board of Commissioners to regulate public conveyances, and to prescribe terms and conditions upon which automobiles and other vehicles affording street transportation, similar in character, to that afforded by street railway companies, shall be run and operated; Section 31, authorizing not more than $5,000 annually for the Charities Commission of Davidson County; Section 34, by eliminating civil service examinations; Section 36, to provide for the collection of taxes and a Board of Equalization on assessments; and Section 42, to provide for the time for collecting interest, the correction of the erroneous enumeration of subsections thereof; and to amend the said Act as amended by Chapter 253, in the Private Acts of 1913, fixing rate of payment by the police providing pensions in certain cases to...
