An amendment to the Constitution, viz.: Amend the Constitution of National Grange under organization, State Grange, so as to read as follows: State Grange, Sec. 1, Fifth, Degree. Pomona (Hope) composed of representatives elected by the Subordinate Granges; provided, that when the Subordinate Granges in any State become so great as to render it necessary, each State Grange may, in such manner as it may determine, reduce its representation. Sec. 2. Fourth Degree members in good standing are eligible, and may be elected as representatives in a State Grange. To Committee on Constitution and By-Laws. Also, Amendment to the Constitution as follows: Amend by adding the following sections under organization, National Grange; Sec. 2. Any Fourth Degree member in good standing may be elected as representative in the National Grange. Sec. 3. Representation shall be based upon membership. Basis of representation shall be seven thousand two hundred and fifty members. Where States have not that membership then they shall be districted with other States. To Committee on Constitution and By-Laws. The Worthy Master appointed Bro. Lang, Tex., Bro. Chase, N. H., Bro. Wayne, N. Y., Bro. Ellis, Ohio, Bro. Eshbaugh, Mo., as the Committee on the preamble and resolution offered by Bro. Darden, Miss. On motion of Bro. Moore, the Grange adjourned until Thursday, 28th inst., at 9 o'clock A. M. SEVENTH DAY. Thursday, Nero. 28th, 1878. The Grange assembled pursuant to adjournment, and was opened in the Fourth Degree, at 9.30 A. M., by Worthy Overseer Woodman, acting as Worthy Master.
