Connolly; and, finally, to enlighten the public as to the amounts paid this same Waterbury for lobbying at Albany and procuring unprofitable legislation for this city. But neither I nor the public can be astonished at the Mayor's choice in this instance, in view of the many other unfortunate selections which have been.made by his Honor. Unceasing blunders, and intrepid, .cumulative folly have characterized his whole administration. In conclusion, permit me to say (though it is hardly necessary) that the Mayor's alleged discoveries in relation to myself are the weak, but malicious, offshoots of his 321 Honor's vindictiveness, on account of the part taken by myself, with others, in bringing to justice his esteemed friends--the forcibly retired Police Commissioners.
