Absent--Commissioner Dimock. The minutes of the meetings held September 1, 3 and 4, 1875, were read and approved. A petition was received from James Stokes, for permission to erect a retaining wall in front of property now being graded between Fifty-eighth and Sixtieth streets, East river, and being read, was On motion, laid on the table, and the Engineer-in-Chief directed to examine the premises and report on the character of the proposed wall, and the expediency of erecting the same, and the petitioner requested to submit for examination the title to said property. A communication was received from the Police Department, advising that it did not require the slip at Ninety-fifth street, East river, to be dredged, and being read, was On motion, placed on file, and the Secretary directed to advise Mr. Kane of the action of the Police Board, and that this Board declines to take further action in the premises. A communication was received from the Engineer-in-Chief, recommending that nine of the Department scows be caulked, and being read, was On motion, placed on file, and the Engineer-in-Chief directed to have the work done under the supervision of the Engineer in charge of the floating property.
