P. 27. l. 4. Hamzah. See Tabari, who relates his death by Vahashi, who had been hired by the promises of Moavia's mother, Hind by name, to assassinate Hamzah. P. 27. l.11. Ghassan. In the East-India House copy of the Rouzat Ulahbab, this place is called Askan; in the copy at St. Petersburgh, Ghasfan; in L.'s copy, Ashak.--The account of this affair is literally taken from the Rouzat Ulahbab. P. 28. l. 18. is kohol for all sins. L., and the Rouzat Ulahbab furnish: "does away with the sins;" which reading is the true one. P. 29. l. 3. Talha. Tabari calls him Toleiha.
