Unfortunately, Cage's career (and hairstyle) seem to be getting progressively worse. The premise of this film was interesting, that our hero can see into the future, and the FBI needs his help in locating a nuclear device being planted by European terrorists. Amazingly, the scriptwriters totally mess up this original idea. Firstly, our hero, Cris Johnson, can only see 2 minutes into the future. How exactly is a 2 minute window of opportunity supposed to help locate a nuclear bomb? Not much room for error there. Secondly, the whole 2 minutes into the future thing, the rules for that changes for no credible reason. He can suddenly see a whole day into the future of a young girl, whom he falls in love with. (And he happens to be double her age, AND they fall in love, one day after meeting?!) And to make matters worse, he doesn't want to help the FBI at first, which leads to the Feds and the bad guys on his trail. WHY??? He's not interested in saving Los Angeles. If they had left him alone, they could have gotten on with their dastardly plot. The acting is atrocious, the special effect are cartoonishly pathetic, and the ending is the worst cop-out in movie history. Try not to throw your shoe into your TV screen in disgust once the credits roll, that's the way I felt. Bad, oh so bad.
