The Thirteenth Annual Meeting of the North Carolina 3 Bar Association convened at the Toxaway Inn, Lake Toxaway, N. C, Tuesday, June 28th, 1911, at 9 p. m. Mr. Charles W. Tillett, President of the North Carolina Bar Association, called the meeting to order. 5 Mr. Tilxett: i Ladies and Gentlemen: i Although all of our members are not present, many hav ing just arrived on the late train, I will call the Association to order, as several addresses are to be made to-night, and we can not delay the meeting longer. In the first place, we have all come here, to one of the most beautiful spots in the world, to hold the annual meeting of the North Carolina Bar Association. The far famed - beauty of the place has drawn to us many members of the Bar in this State. They will be in here after awhile; they are here.? This Association 'has a custom which I think no other - organization has: We appoint a gentleman each year to welcome you. We have appointed a-gentleman to welcome us here to-night, and, not having a lawyer here at Lake Toxaway, we have appointed a man who lives just across the mountain range, --one of the best products of these grand old mountains, who is known all over the State of North Carolina, and who needs no introduction. Ladies and gentlemen: I have the honor of introducing to you Hon. Walter E. Moore, of Webster, N. C. Mr. Moore: Mr. President and Members of the North Carolina Bar Association. The privilege has been granted to me of extending to the North Carolina Bar Association a welcome to the mountains, and it is an honor which I greatly esteem and appreciate.
