I thought you must be, to be able to pick and choose, and make such a certainty of it. Willy. It isn't that, though father has 260 acres to farm. Frank. How do you manage it, then? Willy. If she don't marry me, I shall kill her. Frank. Oh, indeed That is the way of it, is it? (aside) This must be the Softy I heard of. But don't bother now, there's a good lad; go and look after your butterflies, or your Polly, or whatever her name is (draws). Willy. She isn't Polly; she is a lady. But I ain't going after her, except in my best--this suit is for butterflies--Sunday suit for courting. Lovey, lovey, lovey, I love you, &c. (Exit.) Frank. Queer sort of beggar; hardly safe to run loose, I should think (goes on drawing). After all, I ain't sorry to get out of town and down into the fresh green country. I believe T should be far happier were I to regularly go in for painting instead of only playing at it. Better give it up altogether, or stick to it entirely.
