But I can't show you any more now, I must get to work (arranges things, and begins sketching). Willy. Do you like gwrls? Frank. Yes, I like them when they are nice. Willy. There is a nice one over there (points to cottage). Frank. Is there? Willy. Yes, there's two of them, both nice. I am going to have the nicest. Frank. Oh, you are engaged, are you? Willy. I haven't told her yet, but I shall have her. Frank. Indeed You are a rich man, then, I suppose? Willy. Yes. Frank. I thought you must be, to be able to pick and choose, and make such a certainty of it. Willy. It isn't that, though father has 260 acres to farm. Frank. How do you manage it, then? Willy. If she don't marry me, I shall kill her. Frank. Oh, indeed That is the way of it, is it? (aside) This must be the Softy I heard of. But don't bother now, there's a good lad; go and look after your butterflies, or your Polly, or whatever her name is (draws). Willy. She isn't Polly; she is a lady. But I ain't going after her, except in my best--this suit is for butterflies--Sunday suit for courting. Lovey, lovey, lovey, I love you, &c. (Exit.) Frank. Queer sort of beggar; hardly safe to run loose, I should think (goes on drawing). After all, I ain't sorry to get out of town and down into the fresh green country.
