Our Concrete Angels (Paperback)

Hello, my name is Kathy Brown Ballard. I'm, 52 years old and I am a product of child abuse. Hello, my name is Kathy Brown Ballard. I'm, 52 years old and I am a product of child abuse.
There I've said it I have done what society expects of me. Stand up admit who I am and go on with my life. Well, you see it doesn't work like that with an abused child. By telling a person who has survived child abuse, and by survived I mean lived to talk about it, you are reiterating how they already feel, the abuse I received was my fault . Admitting to the pain and heartache I was subjected to as a child wasn't my problem. I am under no illusions of what happened to me. No my guilt was shame, because it was considered incest and I still love the ones that put me through it, voluntarily or by turning their heads. This is why I wrote my book. It helped me to understand the why of it all. Not from adults who were involved they're still in denial. No, I got the answer from deep within me. Now I will take you on that journey. No, it won't be easy, as a matter of fact at times it will be our worst nightmare. I will promise you this though, rather you have been abused or not this journey we are taking together will bring you to your knees. It will give you a whole new insight on the mind of a child who has gone through the horrors of abuse. How they survive it, but more importantly why they have to forgive the person who committed this act before they can forgive themselves.
