It is a political work not a historical one. It describes Bhim Sen, Jang Bahadur, Nana Shaib, King Rana Udip, Bir, and Deva- General Dhir Sham Sher, King Chandra Sham Sher the then king of Nepal. A huge chunk of the 2nd volume is devoted to Maharaja Chandra Sham Sher both volumes have many appendices that note the religion, customs, forestry, architecture, peace treaties, coinage, armorial bearings and flags, regalia, anthems and titles, the prime ministers of Nepal, law of descent, decorations, weights and measures, residents, envoys, inscriptions, books and articles and the flora and fauna of Nepal. The book has 191 illustrations and 5 maps and 2 genealogical chants of the royal family and the Rama family.
