Discovering the Past - Victorians (Paperback)

This work is part of the Schools History Project course for the KS2 National Curriculum Study Unit, Victorian Britain. It is designed for pupils in Key Stage 2 work in England and Wales. This unit provides the Schools History Project's first "core text" for National Curriculum history in primary schools. It is published to coincide with the introduction of the new slimline National Curriculum in September 1995. It is the first of the new generation of resources for NC History. The material gives evidence of SHP's three years' experience of implementing National Curriculum History. This, the pupil's book, provides the core entitlement for this unit, emphasizing an overview of Victorian times; in-depth study of a range of Victorian families; and a detailed exploration of the working lives of children and adults in Victorian times. There are clear explanations designed to lead pupils into enquiry, such that they find things out for themselves from an abundance of source material. Theere is also a Teacher's Resource Book and a Picture Pack/Source Pack. This provides 16 large-size images depicting a range of people and situations from Victorian times.
