In 1965, Bridgehaven, NY, becomes unglued when an itinerant family arrives and sets up a roadside animal attraction. But it's the after-hours tent show that has townsfolk buzzing. Nearing his high school graduation, Fenton Bushing becomes obsessed with Georgia Wheeler, the show's only dancer. Her routines are more comical than sensual. But the Wheelers are out for more than just admission prices. They target the wealthy, and Fenton is heir to a vast estate.
