This volume presents a classification and analysis of torcs from the Bronze Age Central Balkans (Vojvodina, Serbia, Kosovo and Macedonia). He classifies the 235 surviving complete or fragmentary examples primarily by design. Comparison is made with neighbouring Bronze Age cultures for evidence of regional cross-cultural contacts, and representations of torcs in sculpture are discussed for the light they can shed on function and interpretation.
