I Love You, Baby, I Love You consists of ten short stories about homeless people. The first story gives its name to the title of the book. In each story, the situations the characters experience are told in the raw and naked manner in which they usually happen in real life. These narratives cut across racial and ethnic lines involving Anglo, Hispanic, African-American and Mexican characters. Beyond some of the prejudices and stereotypes about the homeless, these stories exhibit the struggle for happiness and self-realization-innate to all human beings-under extreme economic and emotional situations. They mirror the mosaic of events that constitute human life, as well as the complexity of the human personality. They are a testimony to the human condition.
