Reluctant Lady (Paperback)

The corvette, HMAS Whyalla was the first vessel built and launched from the Whyalla Shipyard in 1941. After active service during World War Two, the ship became the RIP. In the 1980s it was bought by the City of Whyalla and returned to where it was built as a major part of the new Whyalla Maritime Museum, but the job of getting the ship out of the water and to its present resting place on dry land earned her the title of THE RELUCTANT LADY. This book is a collection of STAN cartoons from the local newspaper telling the story of how HMAS Whyalla came to be at the Whyalla Maritime Museum and is published in conjunction with an exhibition of cartoons held on the ship itself.
