It happened in Baja California. Otherwise, Ric, a Chicagoan, has led an exciting life. He served in the World War II Merchant Marine, during the Korean War in the Air Force, and after graduate work, was a reporter for the Chicago Daily News and a correspondent for Newsweek. Later, Ric served on management consulting projects in foreign countries and for stateside governments; after college and university teaching, he joined the Chancellor, University of California, San Diego as executive assistant.
