In biennial plants the root and leaves are formed during the first year, in the second, the fructification is completed. Bifaria folia. Each leaf pointing two ways, or coming out only on opposite sides of a branch. Biferae plantce. Flowering twice a year. "Biferique rosaria Peesti." Virg. See Vol. II. p. 249. Bifidium folium. A leaf divided or cloven into two parts, twocleft. Biflorus pedunculis. Bearing two flowers on a foot-stalk. Bigeminum folium.
