By his Deed of Feoffment, dated January 29th, 1G20, he granted a Rent Charge of 6 13$. Ad. on his Estate of Eyarth Uchaf, in this Parish, and also a small Tenement adjoining the Chapel, valued at 3 6s. fid. per annum, to Edward Price of Llwyn-ynn and Thomas Lloyd of Plas Einion, their Heirs and Assigns for this pious work. The Chapel has since been augmented considerably by the Governors of Queen Anne's Bounty. There is often a happy contagion in pious deeds. Thus, as this Founder had been an humble imitator of his revered Master in founding this School, so did this Institution of Jesus Chapel suggest a precisely.similar Establishment in the Parish of Wrexham more than a Century afterwards. Mrs. Drelincourt, and her Daughter Lady Primrose, were once Inhabitants of the Parish of Llanfair, and took this Chapel and School as the model of their Foundation of Berse Chapel. Hence the Parish of Llanfair has the privilege of.sending one Scholar (if not more) to Berse School. (-) 1573. To all and singular, as well Nobles and Gentlemen, as others to whom these presentes shall come, Robert Cooke, alias Clarencieuse, Esq. Principal Herault and Kynge of Arras of the Southe, Easte, and Weste partes of this Realme of Englande, from the Ryver of Trente southewardes, sendeth greetinge, in our Lorde God Everlastinge. Whereas, aunciently from the beginninge, the valiant and vertuous actes.of woorthie persons have been comended to the worlde, with sundrie monumeute and remembrance of their good desertes, amongest the whiche the chiefest and most usuall hathe bene the bearinge of signes in fieldes called Armes, which are evident demonstracons of...
