Wayne Nunnely (born March 29, 1952 in Los Angeles) is an American football defensive line coach for the National Football League's Denver Broncos. Nunnely was the head coach of the UNLV Rebels football team from 1986-1989.Prior to coaching the Broncos, Nunnely has coached since 1975 at UNLV, Cal Poly Pomona, CSUF, University of the Pacific, USC, UCLA, New Orleans Saints and the San Diego Chargers.On April 23, 1986, Nunnely was named interim head coach UNLV Rebels after the previous coach, Harvey Hyde, had been dismissed due to disciplinary issues surrounding his players; Nunnely had been an assistant coach on Hyde's staff.
