There has been a pressing demand for a new third edition of Professor Shastri's authoritative work on Environmental Law. Moreover, in this growing field of law, the rapid increase in case law and newer statutory provisions make it necessary to bring out a new edition incorporating all newer developments. The book is divided into thirteen chapters to study the various aspects of environment protection and conservation. It refers to more than 230 Supreme Court and High Court decisions, incorporating all the latest case law up to April, 2008. Extracts from many decisions have been given in the appendix of the book, enabling the reader to refer to the original text of the decisions.
