Not illustrated. 1898 Excerpt: ...avenue to Clark street; on Clark street, from Michigan avenue to Carrollton street, and on Carrollton street, from Clark street to the northern city limits; and to place, construct, equip and maintain poles, posts, wires, guys, fixtures, conduits and ail other apparatus and appliances in and along said streets necessary for the purpose of said railway company, and to make all proper connections, switches, cross-switches and turnouts in connecting its tracks with the tracks of other street 'railways in said streets, upon the terms and conditions hereinafter stated. Said tracks shall be laid in the streets where they arc not already 'established, upon such line as may be determined by the Board of Public Works, and shall occupy a space not more than 14 feet in width at any point. In such streets as are already occupied by the track or tracks of other companies, no additional tracks shall be laid by said company, or trolley wires strung by it, but before entry on such streets it shall acquire the right to use such tracks and trolley wires of such other company or companies. Provided, That in those streets which are occupied by the single tracks of other companies, said company shall have the right to lay an additonal track, with the necessary equipments, so as to make a double track railway in such streets: Provided, further, That whenever the company which now owns such single tracks in such streets has authority and permission by ordinance to lay an additional track therein, said railway company shall not lay a second or additional track in such streets, until it shall have arranged with such company by agreement, or by proceedings at law, to construct and operate jointly with such company such additional track: And provided further, That at no point on the ...
