Living with Uncertainty - Living with Uncertainty (Paperback)

This textbook is part of the A-level 16-19 School Mathematics Project course. These materials have been developed with the aim of providing a sixth form course which carries forward the changes in mathematics teaching embodied in GCSE. The main principles behind the course are as follows: students are involved in developing mathematical ideas; premature abstraction and over-reliance on algorithms are avoided; appropriate use is made of technological advances, eg. graphics calculators or computers with a graph plotting facility; and misunderstandings are confronted and cleared up. The course is designed to be flexible enough to provide for the whole range of students who obtain at least grade C at GCSE.
