The publication of One Africa, One Voice - an information journal
of the Pan-African Parliament (PAP) – is a groundbreaking
compendium. It fulfils the often-expressed desire of the managers
of the PAP to acquaint people with the roles, functions and
activities that the parliament is poised to fulfill. The preambles
to both the constitutive act establishing the African Union (AU)
and the protocol to the Treaty Establishing the African economic
community relating to the PAP, and their objectives, underpin
unequivocally the people-focused setting of the structure. It is
therefore fitting that it be within the domain of the people; for
them to be fully informed about it and to facilitate its growth
with their input. The journal helps to pave the way for the
enrichment of the PAP and the mechanisms and structures by which
Africa is governed.
