Excerpt: The following is a list of characters that appear in the American animated series ThunderCats, its 2011 reboot, and its related media. The Thunderians are the inhabitants of the planet Thundera which includes the heroic ThunderCats. The inhabitants of the planet have varying levels of cat-like traits that separate the different Thunderians into different types ranging from Jaguar, Lion, Tiger, Panther, Cheetah, Wildcat, Lynx, Puma, and Smilodon-type Thunderians. When Thundera is on the verge of destruction, Jaga got the nobles of the Thunderians to help get Lion-O onto the spaceship and off Thundera. There were some other survivors of Thundera's destruction as revealed in the five-part episode "ThunderCats HO " where it was shown that the Thunderians Lynx-O, Bengali, and Pumyra were rescued by two Berbils in their ship which crashlanded on an island on Third Earth. After Thundera was recreated by Mumm-Ra when he was looking for the Sword of Plun-Darr, the Thunderians have been returning to Thundera one by one. In the 2011 series, the Thunderians (referred to as the Cats) were among the creatures who once served Mumm-Ra. This version's depiction of the Thunderians had them with clawed feet with spat-like coverings on them. Mumm-Ra found the Thunderians useful where they were given the authorities over the other Animals. This came to an end when Leo led in the rebellion which led to Mumm-Ra's imprisonment and his pyramid crashing onto Third Earth. The surviving Thunderians led by Leo rebuilt their civilization on Third Earth while the Book of Omens was hidden to keep it from falling into the wrong hands, having kept the Eye of Thundra while entrusting the other three stones to the other animal races. Over the past centuries, the Thunderian Empire grew into a bountiful civilization through its army and magic-using clerics.
