CFNR-FM is a Canadian radio station based in Terrace, British Columbia, owned and operated by Northern Native Broadcasting. The programming represents the First Nations communities in Northern British Columbia. Programming of CFNR-FM is distributed to numerous repeater stations in the region. The station describes its music programming as classic rock format. Programming includes sports broadcasts such as the All-Native Tournament and Vancouver Canucks hockey. CFNR received approval on July 20, 1992, Northern Native Broadcasting was granted a licence for an English-language and Native-language station at Terrace. The same year, CFNR received approval to operate a number of transmitters in northern British Columbia. In 1993, CFNR received approval to add more transmitters. In 1994, CFNR received approval to add a transmitter at Terrace. The most recent additions and a deletion of a transmitter were in 2007 and 2008. More new transmitters may be added in the future. Communities in which CFNR-FM is broadcast, with their FM frequencies (in MHz) and call sign (where known): On August 7, 2009, Northern Native Broadcasting (Terrace, B.C.) applied to the CRTC to add a transmitter at Seely Mountain, British Columbia on the frequency of 96.1 MHz with more transmitters in the Northern areas of British Columbia. This application was approved on December 10, 2009. On December 14, 2009, CFNR-FM received approval to add a transmitter at Hazelton, British Columbia (Seely Mountain) which will operate on the frequency at 98.1 MHz. On December 15, 2009, Kispiox First Nations Community Radio received approval to add a transmitter at Hazelton, British Columbia to operate on the frequency at 96.1 MHz and will also receive programming from CFNR-FM.
