Excerpt: Jason Nicolas Maria Dantes de Jong (born 28 February 1990) is a Filipino international footballer who plays as a defensive midfielder for Stallion FC and is the current captain of the Philippines national under-23 football team. He is a product of the NAC Breda youth system but never made any first-team appearances for the club. He's gone on to have a stint in the Belgian Second Division before having stints in the Eerste Divisie and the Indonesia Super League. Usually a winger, he has since been converted to a defensive midfielder and has been likened to his namesake Nigel de Jong. Born in Breda, De Jong began his career with Gloria UC and moved to NAC Breda in 2004 after he was scouted. He went through the ranks at the club until graduating from Breda's U-19 youth team and was then released. In August 2009, De Jong moved abroad and signed a one-year deal for newly promoted Belgian Second Division club Turnhout.
